2 today

G,day all, decided to go out today and have a look at some goldfields near town and had a look on google earth and found an old gold field 9ks sth of Laverton called Biddies patch, i got out there about 9 this morning, this gold field has been heavily worked with dozers in which they first detect it then scape 4" off the top and detect it again and keep going until they hit bedrock so you would think all the gold would be gone, not so, when they worked this area the detecters were pretty old and with these new detectors you can still find gold on these scrapes, i got 2 nuggets, the first was about 8" down and was a very quiet signal and it weighed 1.09 grams, the second nugget was only 4" deep and gave a strong signal and it weighed .7 of a gram, not alot but its better than getting none, seeyas later, Stu

Just a few

Hi all, not much to report this week as i spent 4 days exploring new areas with a lot of walking and im thinking of buying a postie scooter so it will be quicker to cover ground. I still havnt seen any camals but plenty of their tracks and dung, lots of Emus and birds, one day as i was walking through the bush and one lone budgie flew around which was weird as ive always seen them in large flocks. the weather has been great but for a few showers one day and it was overcast yesterday, i think Perth has been getting rain and from what i hear im glad im not in Melbourne. After the first few days of not finding any gold i went to a place where ive got gold before and dug up 6 nuggets for 6.5 grams with the largest weighing 3.7 grams, not alot but it will pay for fuel for the trip. Im spending the week in Laverton and intend to do some detecting close to town before heading out for a week or two out bush, Stu
 Some crazy Emus
