Furthar off the beaten track

G,day all, well i headed out for a two week stint in the bush looking for a lost and abandoned mine, [ its lost cos i havnt found it yet ] first stop was an area ive looked at before and i spent 2 days there and found just 3 small nuggets, the pic above was taken from a hill not far from where i found the 3 nuggets and the white speck right of centre is the campervan, after this i went looking for the mines and it took all day but i finally found them and they were about 2 ks nth from where the map says they were, i unhooked the camper from the trailer and found that the rear step/bullbar and tow bar was just hanging on by a few lose bolts, the roads are terrible at the moment, 2 bolts had been sheared off and the rest were bent and i couldnt tighten them, i was about 20ks from the nearest dirt rd and well off the beaten track so i decided to stay for a couple of days seeing as though i was already there, alot of searching and walking in all directions around the mines and i came up with ziltch gold but the veiws and birds that i saw made up for it, the first parrots i saw were Port Lincoln parrots, large birds and emerald green with a blck head which looked amazing in the wild, the second parrot i saw i couldnt identify until i got on the internet when back in town but it blew me away with its colours, it was a Mulga parrot which i had never seen before and the pics i took were shockers so i downloaded some pics of them so you could see what they look like, after another day i decided not to work on the van out here in case i made it worce so i headed slowly back to town 90ks away and broke a fan belt on the way in. Its 29/8/12 and im in Laverton c/van park again and i spent all day fixing the van and bought new bolts at the servo and now its ready to go again but ive booked in for a week so i will do some local detecting until next week when i head off again, the gold has dropped off a little latley so i hope that changes soon, cheers Stu

  2. No Mon, not like you think, the last real indigenous people that live off the land were brought in around the 1960s, lots still still live in the bush but only now and then, they mostly live on aboriginal reserves and some live in the towns as well, there are alot working in the mines and alot of work advertized states that only indigenous people apply, imagine the uproar if that was the other way round.
