G,day everyone, ive been back in camp a week now and been gettin a few nuggets here and there, i went back to an old patch where i got lots of nuggets a few months back and found a nice specimen sitting on the surface, i just love it when ya dont have to dig for them hahaha, the Goannas are out in force at the moment which means the snakes arnt far away, one was so big it looked the blue healer dogs eye to eye but the dogs won out unfortunatly as it had to turn its back on them as it tried to climb a tree, there is a pic with a smaller one in a tree right in camp, its getting hot and as there is big goannas around i cant leave the doors of the camper open at night or i might get an unwanted visitor, cheers Stu.

Had any close calls with snakes?

G,day Mia, i havnt seen any snakes which is ok by me cos if i get bittern it might be a long walk and then drive to hospital, i wear snake gaurds even though they make my feet and legs even hotter they are a must. The snakes around here are browns and king browns + many different types of brown snakes and death adders which are an evil looking snake and they hide under the sand so you dont see them until you step on them. Yep it would be good if all the gold was sitting on the surface as digging in this heat [37 today ] is hard yakka, cheers Stu
